Southend Shakespeare usually perform in the Dixon Studio at the Palace Theatre, Westcliff-on-Sea. The theatre is the left-most of the two markers below.
The Dixon seats between 90 and 100 people, depending upon the seating plan we have chosen. Our most common configuration is 3-sided but we have had both classic theatre style and full round before. All tickets are unreserved seating so please arrive early to stand the best chance of getting your choice of seats.
Parking around the Palace Theatre is very restricted. The right-most of the two markers in the above map points to a public car park at the corner of Hamlet Court Road (North) and the A13 London Road. Although it is 5-6 minutes walk from the theatre, you are likely to save that much time by not having to drive the streets of Westcliff to find a space on the road.
The theatre has a warm, spacious and friendly bar for pre-show, interval and post-show refreshment.
There is full access for wheelchairs but please ensure you advise the theatre when you purchase your tickets. For legal reasons, only a limited number of wheelchairs are permitted per show.
